Jim Paterson

As has been widely reported in the press today, it would appear that Jim Paterson will be moving from Station Park to take up a role as Player/Coach at our promotion rivals Dunfermline Athletic.
Jim will head to Fife with the club’s best wishes but ‘Loon’s officials would like to make their position in the matter ‘crystal clear’.
Jim, on his return north of the border after a stint with Bristol Rovers, joined Forfar in early September on a short term contract that in fact expires this coming weekend. No secret was made of that fact at the time.
Dick Campbell had been in discussion with Jim over the past couple of weeks about extending his stay at Station Park until the end of the season and in fact it had appeared that this was a distinct possibility.
However the ‘Pars’ came on the scene last week offering Jim a return to a full time position in the game and not surprisingly he has decided to take up that option, as he was perfectly entitled to do as a free agent once the registration window opens on 3rd January.
On the plus side the Station Park boss has agreed a deal till the end of the season with former Livingston and Arbroath defender Michael Travis who impressed in a couple of outings as a ‘trialist’ in late November. Michael will put pen to paper at the club’s final training session of the calendar year on Hogmanay morning as preparations continue for Saturday’s eagerly anticipated home derby with Brechin City.
