The ‘Loons’ recorded a single goal success over Highland League side Inverurie Loco Works in what was their penultimate pre-season fixture at Station Park on Saturday afternoon.

It was a hard fought ninety minutes for the home side against a very well organised visiting outfit, with goalmouth action to say the least limited.

Gary Bollan was minus the services of Tam O’Brien, David Cox and Danny Denholm, but Martyn Fotheringham made his first appearance of the campaign.

The only goal of the contest came on the half hour mark and was slightly fortuitous in nature.

A Jamie Bain cross from wide on the right flank deceived visiting custodian Scott Mathieson before rebounding off the inside of the post to the unmarked trialist striker Jordan Moore who had the simplest of tasks to poke the ball home from four yards out.

Highland League winners last term Cove Rangers are next on the Station Park visitors list on Tuesday evening of this week, the kick-off at 7.45p.m.
