Forfar Athletic got back to winning ways with a good team performance and an emphatic 3-0 victory over Stirling Albion.

Indeed Forfar showed their intend in the very first minute from kick off Danny Denholm crossed the ball into the penalty area, where David Cox laid the ball back to Gavin Swankie and he controlled it well on his chest and hit it on the volley to make Chris Smith dive full length to his left to prevent the goal. Stirling’s Isaac Layne was proving influential and turned sharply on the penalty spot to get his shot on target but was not too much of an issue for Grant Adam to save, he was again involved this time producing a dangerous cross for Sean Dickson to have a free header on goal only to glance it wide of the post. Danny Denholm pounced on some slack defending and picked the ball up and slipped a nice weighted pass into Gavin Swankies run who got a powerful shot but just to  direct at Chris Smith. Forfar opened the scoring with what looked like a training field move, Lewis Milne swung a corner wide to the 18yard line and Andy Munro produced a powerful header that left Chris Smith no chance of saving. Jamie Bain came close to doubling the lead with a cross come shot that almost caught Chris Smith out but he managed to tip it over the bar.Marc McKenzie played a square ball to Eddie Ferns but his shot was poor and didn’t trouble Grant Adam’s goal, again Marc McKenzie was involved in the build up play with time for Sean Dickson but he mistimed his header completely and the danger was snuffed out. From a throw in Danny Denholm passed the ball off to Marc Scott who unleashed a powerful shot which needed tipped over the crossbar.

Second half continued in same pattern as first, Eddie Fearns played the ball into the box and a few chances fell to Stirling until Grant Adam punched the ball clear. Forfar scored again through a fantastic run from Marc Scott who picking the ball up in his own half and drove up the touchline until he hit the byeline and played a perfect cross near post for Gavin Swankie to glance his header into the net. David Cox was busy around the pitch and got a good shot on goal from 18yards out but it was deflected just wide, but he wasn’t to be outdone and minutes later found the bottom right hand corner of the net with a fine strike from 20yards out after good build up play between him and Marc Scott. Gavin Swankie has several chances to score and increase Forfar’s lead, with opportunities one on one with the keeper but couldn't keep his shots down and  the ball sailed over the crossbar.
