"Forfar Athletic on this Day" Book Available

Tuesday, 17 October 2017 10:33

We are delighted to confirm that paperback copies of the newly published "Forfar Athletic On this Day" by David W Potter are available in the Club Shop. The book (560 pages) features many of the key moments in Forfar’s history and there are mentions for great players such as Davie McLean, Alec Troup and Craig Brewster. Matches against Rangers, Celtic and Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup are featured as well as the day the ‘Loons’ astonished the football world by beating Hearts at Tynecastle. But credit is also given to the less spectacular of days as well like defeats at Cowdenbeath, Stenhousemuir and Dumbarton in the pouring rain. This is also part of supporting a small team like Forfar, and they are all chronicled by a man who first watched the Loons in 1954 and whose father and grandfather watched them way before then.

You do not need to have pre-ordered the paperback – simply drop by and purchase a copy!   We are offering it at a special Club Shop 10% discounted price of £18 (RRP £19.95).   We hope that David will visit the Club Shop on 11 November to sign copies of the book for those starting their Christmas shopping early – further details to follow.

For those who have pre-ordered the hard back limited edition copy you will receive an email with information about delivery of your book or pop into the Club  Shop to collect your copy at any home match.

Email orders for the paperback can be taken at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it – p&p costs will also apply.
