A Good New Year to all Loons Fans

Sunday, 31 December 2017 15:32

I would like to thank everyone connected with the Club for their hard work, input and support over the past year. Also I wish all our many supporters, volunteers and sponsors plus their families well for 2018.

On the back of an excellent away win at high flying Ayr yesterday we finished the year on a real high and now look forward to welcoming our first foots from Arbroath on January 2nd. It was a dogged and determined team performance against a good full time side with our squad down to the absolute bare bones. Although always reluctant to single out individuals for praise it was a fantastic performance by Marc McCallum which kept us in the game before the ‘Coupar Angus connection’ took over with three goals in the closing 15 minutes firstly a high class strike from our Trialist Jordan Hornby and then two from the hard working Matthew Aitken. The overhead hook shot being worth the admission price on its own. The highlights are available on the website and well worth viewing when you find the time. Sometimes seasons turn on a performance and this may be the one that does it for us. However there is still a lot of work to be done and rest assured Jim & Barry are working hard on making changes during the ‘January window.’ Despite our lowly position in the league we look forward with optimism to the second half of the season and a climb up the table.

Have a Good New Year and I look forward to seeing you all back at Station Park in good voice and ready to give the team your full support.

Ken Stewart
Chairman
