Forfar Athletic On This Day Book Signing – Saturday 11 November 2017

Tuesday, 07 November 2017 11:46

David Potter will be visiting the Club Shop before this Saturday’s match v East Fife to sign copies of two of his books – Forfar Athletic On This Day and The History of the Scottish Cup (1873-2016).  Paperback copies of both books will be available for sale on the day or you can bring along a copy purchased at an earlier time.

David will be in the Club Shop from 2.20pm until 2.50pm and would be delighted to meet supporters and chat about how he produced Forfar Athletic On This Day.   At 562 pages the book is a wonderful labour of love for the Loons! It is of course a football book, but it is more than that – it is a glimpse of the social history of the town, the area and the nation. Outstanding players like Davie McLean, Alec Troup and Craig Brewster are mentioned, the red letter days when Forfar took on Rangers, Celtic and Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup, and the day when they astonished the world by beating Hearts at Tynecastle. But credit is given to the less spectacular of days as well, like defeats at Cowdenbeath, Stenhousemuir and Dumbarton in the pouring rain. Such days are also part of supporting a small team like Forfar.

The books are on sale at special Club Shop discounted prices: Forfar Athletic On This Day - £18 (RRP £19.95) and The History of the Scottish Cup - £7 (RRP £12.99).  Both books can be purchased together for a further discounted price of £24. With Christmas fast approaching these would make excellent presents for the football fan in your life.

If you are unable to make it to this Saturday’s match but would like to order a copy of either book please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for more information (P&P charges will apply).

All offers are while stocks last.
