A fairly youthful ‘Loons’ side made the long journey home from Berwick on Wednesday night following a 2-1 defeat in their SPFL Development League East fixture.
The ‘wee’ Rangers took the lead inside the first five minutes of the contest, Matthew Aitken netting the equaliser midway through the half.
The home side’s winner came courtesy of a stunning long range strike in the second period and despite a fair degree of pressure, a second equaliser was not forthcoming for the Athies youngsters.
Our next Development League fixture is at home to Alloa Athletic on the 25th of the month, a friendly fixture to keep the players match fit likely to be arranged for Station Park on Tuesday of next week.
