Forfar Athletic tonight completed the signing of experienced thirty-one year old left sided defender Eddie Malone from Lowland League Spartans.
Eddie began his senior career with St. Johnstone in 2002, prior to playing eighty games for Clyde, scoring a sensational goal in a remarkable Scoittish Cup win for the ‘Bully Wee’ against Celtic, a game which saw Roy Keane make his debut for the Parkhead club.
Eddie then moved on to Dens Park where he made 100 appearances for Dundee, Ayr United, Raith Rovers, Stenhousemuir and subsequently Spartans his other ‘ports of call.’
The ‘Loons’ have paid a modest fee to the Lowland League club for the Capital City based player, but are appreciative of the co-operation they have received from Ainslie Park officials in allowing Eddie to return to SPFL action.
He goes straight into the ‘Loons’ squad for the visit to Edinburgh City on Saturday.
