Rumours seemed to be rife at Station Park yesterday afternoon that Cove Rangers were to be playing Falkirk in the William Hill Scottish Cup fifth round at Forfar on Saturday the 10th of the month.
There was in fact a fair possibility that this was to be the case at one point in the middle of last week as the currently ‘homeless’ Highland League Leader struggled to find a venue for the tie.
However the SFA stepped in and correctly ordered that the tie would take place at Cove’s current registered ground, Harlaw Park in Inverurie, taking precedence over any Highland League commitment the landlords Inverurie Locos may have had.
