Premier Sports Cup Draw
The group stage draw for the Premier Sports Cup (League Cup) was made earlier this afternoon and the ‘Loons’ are in Group C of the North Section with two fellow Tayside outfits and two from the Highlands.
The top seeds in the group are Ross County, with Dundee the second-seeded team, Montrose and Brora Rangers the other third-seeded outfits alongside Forfar Athletic.
Dundee and Brora Rangers were in fact in the Athies group last season, a penalty shoot-out success being gained over the Highland League outfit at Station Park, while the clash with Dundee at Dens did not take place due to Covid problems within the Forfar camp, James McPake’s side being awarded a 3-0 victory.
The group stage ties are due to commence on July 10th with fixtures likely to be released sometime next week.
It is anticipated and certainly hoped that at the very least ‘Loons’ season ticket holders will be able to gain admission to the two home fixtures, but fingers crossed there are further relaxations in the pipeline in this regard over the next six weeks.
On the subject of season tickets, details of the packages available to Forfar supporters will be published during the early part of the week commencing June 7th.
