Following a disciplinary hearing earlier this afternoon the SPFL have confirmed that Forfar Athletic have been awarded a 3-0 win over Stranraer, after the Stair Park side admitted fielding an ineligible player in the Premier Sports Cup tie at Station Park on Tuesday night.
This means the ‘Loons’ now receive three points in relation to the fixture instead of the two they accrued courtesy of the 2-2 draw over the ninety minutes followed by victory in the subsequent penalty shoot-out.
It is likely to make little difference to the final placings in Group H as far as either club are concerned.
Stranraer were destined to finish in fifth place in any case, with the Athies only having a slim chance of moving up from their current fourth placing.
