SPFL Trust Trophy – Match Details

Forfar Athletic officials and their Fraserburgh counterparts have finalised arrangements for our second round tie in the SPFL Trust Trophy.

The historic fixture between the sides will go ahead at Bellslea Park on Tuesday August 13th with an 8pm. kick-off.

Many will wonder why the word historic has been utilised in the previous sentence. Well, amazingly ‘Loons’ historian Barry Stevens has confirmed that it is indeed the first ever competitive fixture between the clubs who have been in existence in Forfar’s case since 1885, the ‘Broch’ having been founded some twenty five years later.

Long serving Athies official David McGregor cannot even recall a pre-season friendly fixture between the sides, but he stands to be corrected if that turns out not to be the case.

Admission prices for the tie have still to be ratified.
