Forfar Athletic officials have been stunned tonight by news of the untimely death of UEFA Executive Director and former SFA Chief Executive David Taylor a the age of sixty.
Born in the Fyfe Jamieson in 1954, he was the son of former ‘Loons’ committee member Alex Taylor and shared his father’s love of the Station Park club.
In recent times he had been a special friend to many at the club and had been a most welcome visitor on many occasions even after his move to UEFA saw him based in Switzerland and travelling the globe.
No matter how far he was from his Angus roots, he always made sure he was kept in touch with the Forfar scoreline.
A solicitor by profession he took over the mantle of SFA Chief Executive in 1999, moving to UEFA in the role of General Secretary in 2007.
A patriotic member of the Scotland Supporters Club, it was always a pleasure to be in his company.
He will be sadly missed by many, but most of all by his wife Cathy and sons James and Alan.
The thoughts and sympathy of all at Station Park are extended to them at this dreadfully sad time.
