Tragic Death of Bill Ogilvie

Former player dies, along with his wife, in a house fire in Turriff.
Many older ‘Loons’ fans will be saddened to hear of the death of former club captain Bill ‘Peerl’ Ogilvie who perished along with his wife Jesse in a house fire in their adopted home of Turriff on Sunday.
Bill, originally from Kirriemuir signed for the ‘Loons’ in 1957, moving on around four years later to Montrose where he also had a spell in charge of the ‘Gable Endies.’
A bricklayer to trade, Bill also had a short stint on the Station Park management committee in the early seventies.
He moved up north some years back settling eventually in Turriff where tragedy struck on Sunday afternoon.
The sympathy of all at Station Park are extended to his family.
