Of The Loons
The ‘Loons’ thanks to a second half fight back clinched a 4-3 win over Cowdenbeath in a Development League East match on Monday night.
The fixture was played on Kelty Hearts new 3G surface and the visiting side had an unfamiliar look to it.
With no first team fixture on the horizon this coming weekend, Gary took the opportunity to field Joe McGovern, Josh Peters, Jim Lister and Allan Smith from the off as over age players.
However it was the Fifers who raced into a 2-0 lead courtesy of goals from Harvey Swann and Joshua Wilson.
Jim Lister reduced the leeway in the 21st minute, before John Henderson made it 3-1 to the ‘Blue Brazil’ in the 31st minute.
However second half counters from Allan Smith in the 54th minute, Matthew Aitken eight minutes later and Jamie Gill on the 75 minute mark sealed the points.
Berwick Rangers are the visitors to Station Park next Tuesday night, the kick-off on this occasion 7.45p.m. at the visitors request.
Andy Munro is on schedule to make his return from injury in this fixture with hopefully Michael Travis also fit enough for active service at some point in the contest.
