Dod Dakers

Many ‘Loons’ supporters would have been saddened by the news this week of the death in the Strathmore Hospice of Dod Dakers.

Along with wife Evelyn who has not been in the best of health herself in recent times, Dod was a super keen supporter of the Athies cause.

For many years his appearances on the terracing itself were limited due to his stewardship of Robert Watt the Butchers in North Street.

Nevertheless god knows how many steak pies and butchery vouchers were donated to club fund raising functions in that time?

It would be a great trivia question!

Following retirement he joined Evelyn as a regular in the South Enclosure and became immersed in Supporters Club activities, backing and assistance appreciated by all involved in the club.

At this sad time the thoughts and sympathies of the Forfar Athletic Directors and Management are extended to Evelyn and sons Steven and Scott and their families.

Dod’s funeral is due to take place at Parkgrove  Crematorium on Tuesday of next week at 1.30p.m.
