Double Delight for ‘Loons’ Supporters

Forfar Athletic officials are delighted to announce a two-fold further mid-winter boost with the news that defender Darren Whyte has signed a one-year extension to his current contract while Adam Eckersley currently on loan from St. Mirren has signed a pre-contract agreement with the Station Park club covering the 2019/20 season.
Darren approaching his 22nd birthday spent a large part of last season at Station Park on loan from St. Mirren signing a one year deal on his release from the ‘Buddies’ in May of last year.
He has been outstanding in the heart of the Athies defence in recent months and Jim Weir was delighted when Darren put pen to paper on his new contract at training last night.
Adam Eckersley who began his now lengthy senior career as a youth team squad member at Old Trafford moved to Station Park on loan for the remainder of this campaign from St. Mirren in early January.
He has made an instant impact and has become a firm favourite with the supporters in his left back role, opening his goalscoring account for the club in Saturday’s victory over Aiordrieonians.
Again all at Station Park are delighted that Adam has committed himself to the club for the duration of next season.
Talks continue with a further handful of the current squad in the hope of convincing them that their immediate footballing future lies at Station Park.
