Twenty-one year old midfielder Murray MacKintosh is the latest of Jim Weir’s squad to sign a contract extension.
The Kilwinning born player who is just completing his studies at Abertay University was made an offer of a one-year contract extension a few weeks back and having taken time to consider his future both within and out with the game put pen to paper following training last night.
Murray first signed for the ‘Loons’ on an amateur registration back in November 2015 having been recommended to the club by the youth coaching staff at Kilmarnock following his move to Tayside.
He was awarded his first professional contract within twelve months and is now established as an integral part of the first team squad.
His opportunities in the starting line up have been limited in recent weeks but he has shown his undoubted ability to perform at this level and perhaps beyond on many an occasion, notably on his return to Rugby Park in January.
Murray’s signing means that Manager Jim Weir now has nine of the current squad fixed up at present for the 2019/20 campaign.
