Club Statement

Jim Weir has decided on certain changes to his coaching staff.
Former Dundee, Aldershot, East Fife, Raith Rovers and Brechin City manager Barry Smith has been appointed as the ‘Loons’ new Assistant Manager.
Barry brings a wealth of coaching and management experience with him to his new role at Station Park and takes up the post with immediate effect.
Following discussions on the way forward for the club, Gary Irvine has mutually agreed with Jim to concentrate for the time being on his playing role with the club, at this important time of the campaign.
However, the long-serving Barry Sellars will be stepping aside from his coaching role and leaving Station Park.
Barry first joined the club in a playing capacity under Ian McPhee nearly twenty years ago and apart from a four year spell back with his home town club Arbroath and one season up at Peterhead, he has served Forfar Athletic well in both a playing and coaching capacity since and has been a popular figure around the club.
It is an oft used statement in football but we trust Barry will realise that there will always be a welcome for him on any future visits to Station Park and he leaves the ‘Loons’ with the best wishes of all for his future.
