1995 Championship Team – Reunion
[Monday, 06 January 2020 15:44]
April 2020 will mark 25 years since the ‘Loons’ clinched the Scottish League Third Division title, the last and in fact, only the second league title success to come the way of the club in its 135-year history.
The 1994/5 league championship was clinched by Tommy Campbell’s all-conquering side courtesy of a 1-0 win over Ross County at Dingwall on Saturday, April 15th, with four games to spare.
To mark the occasion current club officials are hoping that a fair number of the managerial and playing staff from that season to remember will be able to make it along to Station Park for a reunion and celebration of the feat at our home game against Peterhead on April 18th.
Club Secretary David McGregor who was in post back at the time has contact details for a small number of those involved in the campaign but is on the lookout for either full or email addresses or for that matter a contact telephone number for those listed below in alphabetical order so that full invites can be forwarded.
Hopefully, social media will make initial contact an easier proposition than has at times been the case for similar events in the past.
Sadly one or two notably Don McVicar and Assistant Manager Brian McLaughlin, as well as the Chairman of time George Enston, are no longer with us.
Back to the business and David is keen to get in touch with the following who played their part in the title-winning outfit;-
Eric Archibald
Gordon Arthur
David Bingham
Stuart Glennie
Ian Heddle
Neil Irvine
Gordon Lees
Steve McCormick
Alan McKillop
Bobby Mann
Gary Mearns
Alan Morgan
Hugh O’Neill
Sandy Ross
Craig Stephen
