The Scottish Football Association have announced late this morning an initial three-week suspension of all football beneath the SPFL Championship until at present February 1st.
The impacted leagues are SPFL1, SPFL2, the Highland and Lowland League, the Women's Premier League and all associated leagues in the pyramid system.
This will mean at present the postponement of our away game at Dumbarton and our home fixture with Falkirk.
Taking the best interests of public health and participant safety into account it would appear to be the correct and sensible course of action at this point.
Scottish Cup ties will also be suspended at present, to be re-scheduled in due course.
The Forfar Athletic Directors were due to meet tonight for a regular board meeting by zoom and this situation will now be high on the agenda.
A further statement from the club may be forthcoming in the next day or so.
In the meantime a message to ‘Loons’ supporters wherever they may be.
Adhere to all official guidelines in these troubled times and stay safe and well in the meantime.
