The Forfar Athletic squad returned to training on Saturday past and will have six-midweek sessions into the bargain in advance of what is still only a proposed re-start date for football at SPFL League One level of Saturday, March 20th.
Disappointingly a final decision is still awaited on what format the league season will take at our level upon the anticipated resumption.
The only definite fixture at present for the Athies is our Scottish Cup third-round clash at home to Edinburgh City on Saturday, April 3rd.
Back to our second pre-season campaign and in between the training sessions mentioned above the players will also get some match action when Elgin City head south for a friendly fixture on Saturday first the kick-off scheduled for 2 p.m.
Sadly it now looks almost inevitable that spectators will not be allowed back to games for the remainder of the season a factor which to be quite frank has rendered the season almost a pointless exercise at times and a situation that the football authorities must fight ‘tooth and nail’ to remedy for the commencement of the 2021/2 season in early July.
However, as regards Saturday’s friendly the club will hopefully be in a position to live stream the game and season ticket holders will be contacted in regard to arrangements.
