Of The Loons
Although Forfar Athletic do not have a fixture this weekend, cinch league2 action will re-commence this evening with matches at Annan, Bonnyrigg and Elgin.
The ‘Loons’ management and players have certainly not been inactive over the past week.
A hard training session was undertaken at Station Park on Tuesday evening prior to a friendly Thursday evening when Lochee United provided the opposition.
The final score line in what by the end of the game were testing underfoot conditions was 6-2 in the home side’s favour.
A few of Ray McKinnon’s squad though got vital game time under their belt in what was a very useful exercise, none more so than James Keatings who looked sharp despite his lengthy layoff and to the delight of all on his starting return got his name on the score sheet.
The Athies players will have the luxury of the Christmas weekend off, before sessions on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday of next week in preparation for the visit of Elgin City when we hope all roads will lead to Station Park on Monday, January 2nd.
