Forfar Athletic would like to thank everyone who was involved in our 27th Annual Golf Day which took place on Friday 9th August at Forfar Golf Club. The Golf Day, whilst hopefully an enjoyable event for all who take part, is of course first and foremost a fundraising event and a much needed source of additional funds for the Club. This support is massively appreciated every year. We wish to extend our sincere thanks to everybody who made the day a success once again.

A slightly reduced number of teams battled it out in stormy conditions, but all managed to complete the course and enjoy the post competition fare thereafter.

The winning team was the Alpha Four, comprising of Kevin Brown, Barry Reid,Martin Hay and Billy Ferguson.
Runners-up were Hirepoint Garage with team members Ewan Callander, Jim Campbell, Ian Nicoll and Graham Brown.
Third place, by virtue of a better inward half was Kingennie Holdings made up from Doug Bett, Euan Spark, Ian Anderson and Matthew Brown.
Fourth placed team was Balls Deep led by Peter Kidd, Allan Denyer, Duncan McFarlane and Robert Clark.

While no one was able to win the star prize of a Kia Proceed Gt Line S 1.5T-Gdi DCT car provided by our hole in one sponsors Fiskens of Forfar, many golfers were "very close if it hadn't been for that wind"!



Individual winners for nearest the hole prizes were Euan Spark, Kevin Webster, Doug Bett, Jonathan Ogle, Barry Reid and Kevin Brown.



Once again our thanks go to Alpha Projects who sponsored the day, Ryan at Fiskens of Forfar for providing the car for the hole in one prize and who this season became our new short sponsors. To Forfar Golf Club for hosting the event and helping out with Beat the Pro and to Sharon and team for the excellent food provided throughout the whole day and evening. Not forgetting the bar staff for keeping the thirsty golfers replenished. A special mention goes to the "evergreen" David McGregor for keeping the McGregor Arms from blowing away and his auctioneering skills, helping make the evening enjoyable for all.

Finally all the local businesses who helped out with hole sponsorship, once more the community backing is fantastic for such events and we thank each and every one of them. We are deeply indebted to all our existing sponsors, new sponsors and volunteers who make these days a success.
