CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE
[Saturday, 10 May 2025 19:08]
Now that the 2024/25 season has finally reached its conclusion, I would like to thank every single individual associated with Forfar Athletic for helping the club this season, both on and off the park.
This has been an incredibly difficult season for us, that much is clear. In February I urged you all to rally behind us as we looked to avoid the terrifying situation of finishing in the ‘Club 42’ position. You did that for us, and more.
The beating heart of Forfar Athletic is and always has been our supporters. The feeling of togetherness that has surrounded Station Park in recent months has been incredible and I want to thank you all for the enormous part that you played in helping us over the line.
We reached out to you for help in January through the Forfar Fighting Fund. It is never easy to ask for financial help, but the incredible manner in which you answered our call was unbelievable and truly humbling. The Fund helped us to bring in players who really made a difference, like Craig Slater, Reuben MacAllister and Alex Ferguson. This just would not have been possible without your help. The ‘Kids for a Quid’ campaign was so well received and it was fantastic to see and hear so many young people in the ground.
Clearly we did not want it to go down to the final minutes of the season! At the beginning of the campaign we certainly had aspirations of finishing much higher in the League 2 table and we had no idea that the season would have ended in such dramatic fashion.
We are now completely focussed on rebuilding for next season. Jim and Gavin are assured of our full support and backing as they look to build a team that we can all be proud of. Our target is to be challenging at the top of the League 2 table and with Jim and Gavin at the wheel I feel certain that we can do that.
I want to pay tribute to the huge army of volunteers who put so much time and effort into making Forfar Athletic tick. Put simply the club just would not work without them. There are far too many for me to name individually, but on behalf of the Board of Directors I want to say a massive THANK YOU to every individual who has helped us to keep the club running.
I hope that you all have a fantastic summer and I hope to see you all at the Alpha Projects Stadium @ Station Park next season.
