Thank You

The ‘Loons’ returned to the Alpha Projects Stadium @ Station Park on Saturday with Partick Thistle the very welcome visitors.
Sadly there will be no Scottish Gas Scottish Cup glory for the Athies this season, but you certainly could not fault the home side badly hit yet again by injuries, illness and unavailability for their efforts on the park over the ninety minutes.
It was not to be however and we can only wish the Firhill outfit all the best in the next round and possibly beyond.
The attendance of 1,394 will bring a welcome wee boost to the ‘Loons’ coffers and a big thank you to both sets of fans who turned up in numbers and backed their team in the correct manner on the day. The home support figure of just over the 600 mark was indeed appreciated by the Forfar Athletic officials, management and players.
Thanks also to the match sponsor on the day Alan Davie Transport. It was great to see Alan, sons Ian and Ewan enjoying their day in the company of their invited guests. The Davie family support the club in so many ways throughout the season, not least as a regular match sponsor as well as taking up three hospitality packages each season. Rest assured it is so appreciated and it is great see the business itself continue to thrive in tough times for the haulage industry.
Their party chose Mackenzie Lemon as their Forfar Athletic man of the match, a choice which met with fairly universal approval.

The club were also delighted to welcome a party of ‘boolers’ from the Forfar Bowling Club as well as Keith Thomson and his friends to the Ian McPhee and Archie Knox lounges respectively and thank all for their continued support in this manner season on season.
Finally a pat on the back and warm appreciation to the many regular match day helpers who give up so much time throughout the campaign, but also to the extra ‘hands on deck’ for the day, their presence and assistance allowing the afternoon to pass off successively behind the scenes.
We return to William Hill League2 business this coming Saturday with the first ever visit to the Alpha Projects Stadium from East Kilbride FC.
