Thank You and Onwards to Broadwood
[Wednesday, 06 May 2026 11:50]

Firstly in the aftermath of last night’s play-off fixture a huge thanks to the ‘Loons’ supporters who turned up in excellent numbers for the visit of Hamilton Accies and gave the players great backing throughout the ninety minutes and beyond.
They undoubtedly appreciate the ‘shift’ the management and players have put in over the past couple of months to achieve their place in the end of season battle for promotion and certainly Scott Shepherd’s late counter makes the second leg more interesting than it might have been.
As Jim Weir said in the aftermath, if we can only get the first goal in the second leg, who knows?
The crowd figure on the night by the way of 972 just pipped the attendance at the Premier Sports tie with St. Mirren for the third spot in our home attendance league this season, the turnout for the Partick and Arbroath fixtures in the Scottish and League Cups respectively both topping the four figure mark.
Thanks also to D & A Factors Ltd and the other patrons on the night who took up the pre-match hospitality package that was on offer and to those who boosted the club’s coffers within the 1984 Lounge in reasonable numbers despite the midweek slot prior to kick-off.
It is now on to Broadwood Stadium in Cumbernauld, Hamilton’s adopted home this season on Saturday first for the second leg against Darian MacKinnon’s side. ‘Loons’ supporters will travel as the well known football anthem says with ‘hope in their hearts’ and hopefully in reasonable number.
Admission charges levied by the host club are a bit more expensive than those Athies fans are accustomed to at The Alpha Projects Stadium @ Station Park, but this of course this is out with the control of the away club.
Adult admission is £20
Concessions (over 65 and students aged 18/21) £15
Under 16’s £10
Tickets must be purchased in advance through Fanbase, see Hamilton Accies social media channels for full details.
‘Loons’ supporters should enter the stadium through turnstiles A&B.
The kick-off is as usual at 3pm.
A preview of the match will appear on FAFC social media channels on Friday.
